Troy Foulger Wins All Star Dirt Modified Feature, All But Clenches Third Straight Championship

Foulger continues to show dominance in All Star Dirt Modified, clearly on his way to a third straight Championship while DJ Johnson and Gary Nelson Jr continue to go all out in their quest for the All Star Wingless Sprint Championship

Antioch, Ca (8-11-12) Troy Foulger has had his fair share of on-track rivalries, off-track drama, but more importantly, Foulger has had his fair-share of wins.  In fact, Foulger has won more at Antioch Speedway this season than any other driver in any division, and is on the cusp of clenching his third straight All Star Dirt Modified Championship. To get to this point he’s had to out-last Sean O’Gara and Mike Mendenhall who sits in second and third in points, and this past Saturday Night Foulger had to outlast them on the track as well. With the laps winding down, Foulger had to continue to restart against Mendenhall, O’Gara and Michael Paul Jr. ‘Tricky’ Troy used his restarting talent he’s used all season long to pull away in the final laps to take another victory in the All Star Dirt Modifieds. Paul Jr finished second, O’Gara finished third and Mendenhall finished fourth.

The All Star Wingless Sprints Points Leader DJ Johnson and second place driver Gary Nelson Jr continue to go back and forth at Antioch Speedway and as Championship Night is looming over their heads, Johnson and Nelson Jr are leaving nothing on the table. Johnson and Nelson Jr. went to the front pack as soon as the green flag dropped but it was Johnson who was battling for the lead. Colton Slack was out front, Johnson chasing him down while Nelson Jr was trying to use the bottom of the track to fight for a top five position. When the checkered flag fell, Johnson finished in second and Nelson Jr held on for fifth. 28 points separate Johnson and Nelson Jr. and they’ll continue their war in two weeks at Antioch Speedway.

The Super Stocks saw Freddy Ryland win again over Larry Damitz and Jim Freethy.
